Plot: Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Jing looks to start a winning streak with Mr. & Mrs. Gambler! Returning to the genre he's best known for, the veteran writer-director's latest gambling comedy stars funnyman Chapman To (Vulgaria) and the charming Fiona Sit (La Comedie Humaine) as a couple whose extreme obsession with gambling is perhaps beyond remedy. The two pathological gamblers fall madly in love with each other when they are both taken hostage by a loan shark in Macau. They get married soon after and have a daughter, but their marriage doesn't last long, as the husband develops an affair with his movie producer (Michelle Hu) while the wife is being wooed by a casino tycoon (Philip Ng). Their messy divorce results in a battle over the custody of their daughter. The judge (Elena Kong) dictates that they vow to abstain from gambling for one week, and whoever breaks the agreement first will lose their daughter! Co-starring Law Kar Ying, Mimi Chu, Hui Siu Hung, Harriet Yeung, and Stephen Chow impersonator Wen Chao, Mr. & Mrs. Gambler hits a royal flush with its lucky hand of romance, gambling, and hilarious hijinks.
